Register Now to Volunteer for Republic Day of Service June 13

REPUBLIC, MO — The RepMo Rotary Club is inviting community members, families, and local organizations to come together on Saturday, June 13 for the first Republic Day of Service, a hands-on volunteer event dedicated to strengthening the community through meaningful service projects.

Scheduled as a one-day, community-wide effort, the Republic Day of Service reflects Rotary’s guiding principle of “Service Above Self,” bringing residents together under the theme “One Town, One Community, One Purpose.”

Several sponsors have helped to make this day possible:

  • Greene County MU Extension

  • Brandon Self with TruCover Insurance, Republic, Mo.

  • New Era HVAC, Republic, Mo.

  • Ignite Fitness, Republic, Mo

In addition, individuals who want to support the day may donate to the Rotary Day of Service. Proceeds will be used to support the projects that day with additional proceeds going to the Republic Community Kitchen and Republic Youth Sports Library. You can contribute online.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNTIES

The event June 13 will feature a variety of volunteer opportunities designed to meet real needs across the city of Republic. Participants will have the chance to contribute to projects that support local nonprofits, schools, and community initiatives. The goal is to make a tangible impact in just one day of service.

Planned projects on June 13 include:

  • Building a wheelchair ramp (and landscaping) for a homeowner.

  • Repairing the walking trail in Miller Park (and park clean up).

  • Drop-off and distribution event at Republic Youth Sports Equipment library (and money donations can be made online).

  • Site clean up, food drive and animal adoption event at Republic Animal Control.

  • Landscaping at Lyon Elementary.

  • Rooted Republic Greenhouse project.

  • Project at People Helping People.

  • Independent volunteer service in your neighborhood: assist a neighbor or host a neighborhood gathering.

  • Republic Community Kitchen (shifts for set up and serve breakfast and cleanup). Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m.

  • Trash pickup along Hwy. 60 with Chamber of Commerce (3 p.m. to 5 p.m.).

Organizers encourage individuals, families, civic groups, and businesses to register in advance and select projects that match their interests and abilities. The first 150 to register and participate will receive a “One Town, One Community, One Purpose” T-shirt on June 13.

Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome, reinforcing the inclusive, community-driven spirit of the event.

Other groups and organizations are invited to plan additional service activities on this same day. Perhaps a Boy Scout group would like to organize their own trash pick up as part of the day, and they are free to do so adding to the energy of the day.

“Republic Day of Service is about bringing people together to make a difference where we live,” said David Burton, president of the RepMo Rotary Club. “When our community shows up to serve side by side, the impact goes far beyond the projects themselves. This type of event builds connection, pride, and momentum for future service.”

The RepMo Rotary Club, part of a global network of community leaders and problem-solvers, has already demonstrated its commitment to local impact through projects such as food drives, youth support initiatives, and partnerships with community organizations. The Day of Service expands that mission by inviting the entire community to participate.

Participants can learn more, view project options, and register online at RepMoRotary.org. Early registration is encouraged to help organizers plan projects and ensure adequate supplies and team coordination.
